Calligraphy Laboratory of Eastern Languages Department
As a result of the ongoing reforms in our country, the science world has undergone special updates. Center for Islamic Civilization in Tashkent, Islamic Science and Islamic Studies Centers such as Samarkand and Imam Nasafi have been set up in the Hadith Ilmi. On May 24, President Islam Karimov signed a resolution "On introducing amendments and addenda to the Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan" On the Kashkadarya Region Hokimiyats "on the preservation, research and development of ancient written sources.
For over seventy years the study of literary sources in our country has been neglected. Nearly fifty thousand literary manuscripts kept in the fund of the Institute of Oriental Studies are relatively rarely studied. Studying, promoting and encouraging this rare heritage is our sacred duty.
Creation of a calligraphy laboratory on the basis of the Oriental Languages Department of the University is aimed at implementing the Resolution of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated May 24, 2017 "On measures to further improve the system of storage, research and dissemination of ancient written sources" . The purpose of the laboratory is to provide an integral part of our centuries-old traditions, to educate students with a special place in the Uzbek civilization, to make a worthy contribution to the development of this kind of art , the introduction of theoretical knowledge gained from the textuality and source studies of students, as well as the formation of manuscript work, which is the rich spiritual heritage left by our ancestors.
On December 23, 2017 President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mironovich Mirziyoyev participated in the opening ceremony of the university and got acquainted with the work of the calligraphy lab. The head of our state, familiarizing himself with the conditions created for the students, will be able to organize master classes in our country and abroad, to teach students to work with manuscript sources, and, if necessary, review some manuscripts. "he said.
