Considering that, this year at Alisher Navo'i Tashkent State University of Uzbek Language and Literature opened a master's degree in "5A120106 - Computational Linguistics." Mathematical methods, computer technology, which penetrated into all spheres of social life, began to be used in philology. Because that is the demand of development and progress.
The aim of the new program is to train specialists who will be able to perform tasks such as developing new linguistic research methods and technologies based on the widespread use of methods like syntactic and semantic analysis of text and doing automatic linguistic annotation. Besides, there is also the production of linguistic software for a variety of electronic systems ( text and speech, dictionaries, ontologies, databases), which provide automatic processing of voice speech and written texts in natural languages.
This master's program is based on an in-depth study of the fundamentals of linguistics, with an emphasis on methods for creating formal models of language systems that are appropriate to the tasks of natural language processing, such as speech recognition and synthesis, machine translation, text comprehension and semantic analysis, and intellectual search.
Graduates continue their careers as professional linguists with in-depth knowledge of modern computer methods, as well as specialists in the development and application of language models and resources for automated analysis of natural languages, computer lexicography, etc. Graduates of the program can work in universities, research institutes, software developer and Internet companies.
Young people who want to study in the master's program "Computational Linguistics" take an exam in the specialty and a foreign language. The general mastery of the graduate of the higher education institution and certificates that internationally recognized (TOEFL - 72, IELTS - 5.5, TestDaF, CEFR - B2).
